Many of us have sat together with colleagues from all over the world and identified the need to bring the biophotonics community closer together. I am very pleased to see that the new Biophotonics.World website offers an ideal platform to connect with fellow researchers, initiate constructive discussions and form fruitful collaborations in order to foster our global community of researchers and end-users.
Biophotonics.World offers the unique combination of a news and a networking platform focusing on biophotonics, making our daily life in research easier. Especially for young scientists this will be extremely useful to stay up-to-date, keep themselves informed about professional opportunities and promote their career.

We are delighted to see the launch of Biophotonics.World take place at ICOB2017 in Australia. New connections that have been established during the meeting can be carried forward and strengthened online. I am convinced that the new platform will be a great tool for researchers in the field to stay in touch and continue to network.
